th kaplan notes say both PTU and methimazole can be used in pregnancy, I thought methimazole is contrind. in pregnancy.
Please clarify.

Studies shows that Methimazole is contraindicated in pregnancy since it can cross the placental barrier and cause hypothyroidism........If a question comes up in the exam--It would be better to fo for PTU which is much safer!
