A 5-year-old boy with a one month history of fevers and lassitude
is found to have severe anemia, moderate thrombocytopenia, and a
white blood count of 12,000 cells per mm3. A bone marrow biopsy
would most likely reveal
A. acute lymphoblastic leukemia
B. acute myeloblastic leukemia
C. chronic lymphocytic leukemia
D. chronic myeloid leukemia
E. hairy cell leukemia

just age and increased wbc. i think ALL. but i will not conxider it a fair qs, because how would u go to bone marrow findings if u have not done manual diff findings.I think following appropriate protocol is also needed.

0-14-->ALL
15-40-->AML
40-59-->AML, CML (if blasts>30%-->AML; if blasts <30%-->CML)
60-on-->CLL

These are per Dr. Goljan!!

P.S. What are the DOC for each of the categories?
