I'm freakin' out...These last three days my uw scores have been in the low 50's. My average now is 62. I have no idea what's going on...Three weeks ago I took an NBME and scored 540. I've got about 3 wks to go. Is this normal? Has anybody else experienced this? Need advice please.

Hey bullerunner............, COME DOWN. you used to do fine and score high..., so don't freak out and trust your study and your brain. I think you need time out to relax your mind just for one day or even half a day... some times our brains get blocked and you feel like blind and as if not even a word stick to your mind..., that you may even forget the meaning of a medical word..., it's ok..., it happens. just try to take time out and rearrange your mind and then come back in relaxed mode and do another nbme .., and don't ever forget to trust your mind and your study..., and believe that god will never let your effort go away. so all the information are in there.., you are just in a panic so you can't find them... RELAX Wish you the best of luck

Many thanks Nany. You're absolutely right....but it might be hard for me to take a break. In this profession, it seems like we all suffer a bit from ocd. I'm approximately 3 wks from the exam, and feel pressed for time. I've made a tight schedule for my final review, so, if I break, it means I have more to cover the following day. Oh well. At least it'll be over soon. Thanks again for the advice...and good luck with your studies.

Hey Bullrunner, The key to your prep right now should be NO PANIC! Take it easy.. I know it's easier said than done but just read and practice answering questions as much as possible. Don't get stressed.. Am sure you'll do fine. You're almost done.. just hang in there! All the very best!!!

Ur right doc1981. Right now my confidence should be at an all time high, it's essential for test taking. I'm going to try my best to take a few moments to breathe and relax. I've noticed in the past that taking time away from the books helps in all sorts of ways. 1) thinking more clearly 2) improving comprehension 3) avoiding what I just went thru 3 days ago (panick attack). I've constructed another study schedule that will allow me to have at least 3 full days of relaxation before the big E. Best of luck doc!
