i m rite now in india and m jst waiting for the mail..... but i m sure that i hav failed as people on this forum say that oasis trick is very specific..... as far as spoken english is concerned i dont think i m that bad at it...... rest i m not sure..... but its really depressing..... rite now my all hopes of gettin a residency at a good program are gone.....

HI the same happened to me 2 months ago (had 99-99) and I flunked in patiens notes. I gave up residency for this year. oh life sucks

hi usm..... do u think that we hav no chance in this year???? i still dont hav my report card but i hav heard that they grade us in three sections...... how do u knw that u flunked in patient notes???? did they make a special mention abt it????? btw wen are u plannin to take CS again????

come on.. bharat.. if a guy who has double 99 doesn't have a chance.. then what do people with 80s do.. u definitely have a chance..
NO DOUBT.. may be if ur cs result is late, u may not get into ortho or radiology but will surely get IM...

Hey Bharat... Don't get depressed! I know it's a tough time but I know quite a few people who got high scores and flunked CS.. and now they're doing residencies in good hospitals.

Are you sure it's time for your result to get back? Remember that the scores come back by periods and it might take a month (periods are as long as a month) so you might have done the oasis trick but your result might not be ready and therefore it seems as if you failed it!!! I say you check for your timeframe again because you might be drowning in a glass of water for no reason yet!!! take care and good luck I think it's very unlikely that you flunk it since you are evidently a great doc. Eithere way if you truly did flunk it don't get depressed... you already got amazing scores!! Take care!

Oh one more thing!! Remember that the scores come out on wednesdays so check oasis by thursdays and preferibly on fridays to be really sure!!! and by doing the oasis trick you mean that it allow you to apply again? If it did you might be right but if it just said that you are enrolled to cs and that you can not apply at this moment. your score might not be ready!!! Remember that the period started this wednesday (June 20) and lasts until middle July... I did the oasis trick past thursday and passed but your score might not be back!!! Good luck!!!

GLO my result has been posted as the date of delivery on my oasis is given as 20th of june...... and i did the oasis trick on 22nd of june.......
do u still think i hav a chance?????? by wat i read on this forum clearly indicates that i hav failed.........

Oh I see that's different! Ok if your oasis says that your score was released on the 20th and you did the IWA trick (because it's not really an oasis trick but an IWA trick ) and it allowed you to start a new application for the cs chances are really big that you did not pass it because if your score was released on the 20th you should be getting some red letters that say that you already passed the exam and can not do it again. Never loose faith anyways!! And if you did not pass it believe me you are a great doctor and this is just a little stepback I doubt that it will damage your application at all, any program would like to interview a 99X2!!!  , just make sure that you have US clinical experience and LOR's from US doctors when you turn in you applications and you'll get whatever you want trust me

You do have a good chance of getting interviews at the programs you're interested in, bharatverdin. It all depends on where you apply and the type of residency (internal med, OBGYN, surgery etc).
If possible try to retake CS as soon as you feel you're ready. The faster you're done with CS the earlier you'll get your results. It would be good to have them before you start the interview session.

Hey bharatvedin i agree with GLO, getting a double 99 is definitely a great achievement on ur part, so don't let your mind be overshadowing your accomplishments based on temporary mishaps, just keep your focus on getting yourself residency of your choice...good luck my friend
