anyone with the answer to this. 8 year old kid receiving influenza vaccine seems unreasonable but there is no other choice in the answer. her asthma (as a chronic resp dz) and winter season could point towards influenza but im still not sure. what would be the justification for using pneumococcal vaccine? her asthma and inhaled steroids ? *confused*

The ans is infl.. yearly vacc is recommended for asthmatic pts as the virus changes & causes acute exacerbations.. another clue is that its before winter, so prevelance of infl season makes it more likely.. whats bothering me here is the phraze, 5 years ( meaning could be pneumococcal vacc), but ill still go with infl

I guess the winter thing is what clinches it in favor of Influenza!
