Colles fracture occurs when a person falls on the outstretched hand. It's a distal radial fracture. YOu will see it is deformed adn painful. The main lesion is a dorsally displaced, dorsally angulated fracture of the distal radius.

Smith fracture is also called a "reverse colles fracture". Its a fracture of the distal radial metaphysis. But in this case there will be palmar displacement of the distal fracture fragment.
