Hi , Iam back and with tips I promised to share,
Given my situation and time constraints , I was forced to come up with some crazy  and unconventional methods of studying and practicing for CS.
1.In a typical day I could study for ..say 4 to 5 hrs MAX. .. I have a habit of reading aloud , ...again my tape recorder ...my buddy ...recorded everything I studied . .... the cases. the DD s...In fact the whole of FA was ...in audio ..by the end of 15 days.
2.In the morning ,as I juggled ,kids ...cooking ...etc I had the tapes running in the background....
( My daughter still...tells her BARBIE doll....Can I check your eyes? ...can I see your tummy....)
3.After looking everywhere I couldnt find a good way to counsel on many topics ..... so ..i picked up the yellow pages ....
FIRST I called the DOMESTIC VIOLENCE hotline  ( dont ask what I told them )........ They counselled me very nicely...he he ...
by the way i think as concerned citizens we should know all this ..OK  
4.Hope you figured out how I learnt the other telephone cases......
5.To those who have problems in conversing (like I had) , You should start speaking guys!! with EVERYONE!
How I did it? well i picked up the yellow pages ... again.. called all apartment complexes ... asked them all about the rooms , prices , restrooms ........ i did this till they could understand my sentences ,without me having to repeat them.......
By then I had talked about lawn mowing .....basement refinishing .....
It took time but could manage in 1 month.

TIME MANAGEMENT IN THE EXAM
I ran out of time in the first case. so I realised.....quickly...since points are awarded for each step you do ...its prudent to finish the cases no matter what...
So , From the second case onwards,
1.I stood outside the door for 1 min and wrote down PAMHUGSFOSS , and broad DDs
By Broad DD's I mean , infection , malignancy, trauma....
And wrote only the last name of the patient.
2.knocked 3 times , entered , called patient by name , waited for their response....introduced myself by last name...and my role and what I would do ....shook hands in non ER cases
3.Then smiled ,and opened the drape fully and covered the thighs downwards..
4.Asked a general Q
5.Kept saying ,Iam sorry...and what else.... anything else ...counselled then and there ...
6.Then I informed that , I would be washing my hands and cleaning my stethoscope....
7.Usually at this juncture ,they ask a Q.... to save time ...Answered them while washing my hands and looking at them at the same time...
8.All the while remember that the SP is the audience .. so try to face him or her always ....
9.after washing I held my hands together .. so I remembered not to touch anything .
10.I began examining from the head ,eyes ...because you cant suddenly think of what to do..
11.then As i remembered ,I examined the most important things first....
12.In some cases where I didnt know what else would be on the SP's check list ,I also asked to look at the tongue ,hands ,feet ...
To save time I checked pulsations bilaterally ,at the same time except the carotids...did the same for edema..strength of hands and fingers, feet and toes ..
13.I asked a lot of qs even while examining.... then I talked continuously..even joked ...but became professional immediately...was friendly yet serious..
14.Then I summarised the history in 2-3 sentences and said after examining you I think most probably .........said the most likely diagnosis...
15.by this time i would be almost near the door.... then said we'll do this and this....to rule out .....will see you after we get the test results...
16 .Then I tapped on the shoulder and said ,Hope you start feeling better soon .Bye.

Thanks for the kind words .there are many moms in this world juggling more stuff than me , i feel pale in comparison ......
i do realise some things after having kids , I MISS MY MOM! I LOVE MY MOM ! I RESPECT HER MORE !
Just remembered one more mother thing,
NECESSITY IS THE MOTHER OF ALL INVENTIONS!!

Second to ssrpk , WELL DONE . These are exact what I am hoping to do & what my course training us too .
If you can elabrate all phone calls, counselling in general, in very detail that will be great too. Since where am I they take those domestic violence, abuse spouse, or child very seriously , if I do call even one time , I am pretty sure i will ends up like paris HIlton now situation without hollywood treat .
Another Q , like to looking for recorder for a while been yr , I am not pro, so would you pl tell exact model #, brand name ,how to record, play loud , where to get, price range with sale, bargain etc, me also soft spoken with low tone usually , so how to record loud in there .
At pt room I do speak loud, higher pitch & my nature , talk same time while do examination or on way out and joke alot as it come .
So I thought in CS said no small talk, also in real life if joke, talk extra those eats up time , so I joke, speak less on busy day , so in your case , with all joking , is there enough time for everything .
Any how, I am pretty sure , you do great & pass already with flying marks though , they not show marks to you.
Yes , no need to check the OASIS .
Because in my course, I was surprise all are very knowledgeble, though come to learn , but they know every thing already that me come here to learn .. so I am secretly having palpitation , but something is missing, that is the reality alive as you act & do here .
But by my turn i try to relax , I cannot be too tense serious like other students , if I do I freak out, froze, sweat, speechless, may be dizzy & almost faint . So I gave up to be like all other students, just be my self as in my own clinic, I did upbeat, smile all time, happy confident sound with doing all hx, exm, etc , not follow the format as in order or at all ,as traditional as in all CS books, but as like my clinical experinces .
Thought, I am out of line from way of doing , teaching ,But surprisingly the teacher gave me all thumbs up with alot of praise , & excellent words. Phwee, now I understand , one time, one of IMGsis, done exm , in residency said , she attend all , alot of courses & then combind with her own style & way .
Any way, do say re; SP note writing . Dress , hair, perfume or not, make up etc. & shoes . Day at center food, etc experinces.
The center you did, & facilities, accomodation there & city , even you're from that same city .

Hey ShweHope, i wasnt joking about the domestic violence hotline and calls to my kids pediatrician office nurses.
These people are trained professionals ,they gladly answer all your questions. What were u thinking .........I asked them what Options one had if faced with domestic abuse , they gave good suggestions and some websites ....I really wanted to know whats out there in terms of help for these unfortunate women.............. what I didnt tell them was, I was preparing for CS.
I did counsel some of my REAL friends later , with REAL facts! ..They were like ...WOW ..we HAVE Options !!!
All of us ,Physicians ,SP's (yes sir! ,i'll tell u why) the nurses, social workers ,are into this whole learning and teaching process ,to make the life of the future generation better.

Ok ,about the tape recorder ,(Iam not advertising,)
i went to Radio shack and bought the cheapest one available there! Its small ,radioshack brand VOX activated model,
Uses regular blank tapes ( I used MAXEll ,they come in packets of 3 to 6 ,30 mins to 90 mins each) ,very cheap.
Runs on batteries(AA) or my phone charger (by chance)
By the way ,I looked at a lot a of places ,before finding this one at radio shack.
i dont remember the price.
OR you could use your regular cassette player ,if it has a recording feature.
To record clear and loud voices ...you need to speak clearly and loudly .... plus .....set the volume at the lowest while recording ..... this will amplify the voice ...

and also,for cases like dementia,FA says we need to do CVS,RS and abdomen exm.....how can we do all of that along with mimi-memory and nurologic test in the short span in exams,

i wrote tilt test in the work up ,didnt do it.
the examination part carries few points compared to the exam as a whole , so aim for the most imp. things first ..in the head to toe order..
for the MMSE , I wouldnt ask ALL the Q's, just 1 or 2. Or if the patient is talking and answering all the qs then ..i skipped some Qs ...
The CNS exam is very tricky...to save time what I did was ... skip few areas ..but still ...cover the SP's check list.
Here's an example ,Say there s this ..not so clear case...so its better if u did all the systems ..but have no time .....
1.Check eyes ,flash light in both eyes
2.Check mouth.
3.Carotids,thyroid
4.untie gown ,check front of chest heart and lungs
5.Do biceps reflexes
6.Check Radial pulse both simultaneously.
7.ask him to lie down, listen to tummy,
8.check legs ,for edema,both simultaneously......then for vibration ,one toe, pin prick one or 2 places...
If u see the pattern ...You'll understand what Iam trying to tell u ....
Hint ,hint,
The SP's check list will have for example 1.Reflexes .(and not knee reflex,ankle reflex, this and that...)
Did u get my point?
In other words ,its like doing everything , incompletely ,yet ...u miss nothing ......

One more thing ,if not anything ... remember to check eyes, carotids, thyroid, pulsations ,hands and feet... because HTN and DM are very common...

Re; tilt table test, do not know you can do at clinic , never heard about it , but as far as I know it is special test done by specialist with & special equipment , bed table I think, " " HOUSE TV series has it one time" , usually order by cardiologist, neurologist for fainting pt or may be presyncpe, syncpoe or dizzy , lightheaded pt.

Thank you very much for giving time to inform us.
Especially as a mother f 2 yo, I know how much time they take.
I am going to start studying CS, hopefully 30 th of June. Exam is scheduled 31 th of July Chicago. I am so confused to study FA only or with USMLEw. I registered for online USMLEw already, but I don't know I should spend time for it.
Is tere also book of USMLEw?
Do you think I should just concentrate on one book?
I appreciate the answer.

Hi, Abanoz,
I used both FA and Usmle world online to study . They let you copy some pages of usmle world for personal use( there isnt any book of usmle world that I know of). What I did was , first read FA front page to last .Then ,when I had a basic idea of whats this about , I used the usmle world material to add on to my knowledge.
