I prepared for 3 months: Kaplan 2 notes(all),Washignton manual (certain subjects only),FA (for CCS),EKGs websites(i had more than 10 EKGs).Clinical medicine(just For images;dermatology, blood, growth chart, all types of XRs,,,,,all types of images came in my test.Merck manual(certain subjects only), a Herbal medicine handout to patients (i got it from the the hospaital paharmacy where i do my research and externship), lots of MCQs with explination;Kaplan q book,ad uw. my test was on 23,24 May and if you have a q ,you might refresh my memory. The test is more about understanding medicine than knowing medicine(which was the main issue of step1,2).As a matter of fact ,it is impossible to understand if you do not know. The key is Study, read ,and practice Qs.

Here is a list of the subjects i used (* indicates how much the related subject was benificial foe my test and then scoring) Merck Manual: Common sports injuries**** Occupational lung diseases*** Hypersensitivity diseases of the lung*** Drug therapy in the eldery***** Manual Washington: Enteral nutrition/Parenteral nutrition/Re feeding the severely malnourished patient***** Hyper lipidemia * Critical care chapter***** Renal replacement therapy* Mng of diabetes in hospitalized patients*** DM in surgical patient*** Immunization and post exposure therapies** Isolation recommendation and infection control**** the last two are included in the appendix of the manual .they are just couple of papers but extremely required.Don't forget to go through the other appendix contents such as drug interaction and make sure to know them. Last but not least....I am sorry for being late to answer .Any one wants to contact me to discus cases or MCQs with last available updates ,i will be glad to answer and share. I am sure the benefit gonna be mutual. nadimalhusaini@yahoo.com
