i am actually confused about this.. according to the queston in nbme form 2 this is the answer.. wait for 30 mins with sunscreen and then go.. but in UW they said that you should always advice not to go out between 10 am to 3 pm.. so according to that answer should be after 3 pm.. can somebody throw some light on this??

The question in NBME was about a pale man with family history of skin cancer. This question is slightly different. In a normal person without risk factors or (+) family history, i don't see why you can't go out with just sunscreen? When was the last time a txtbook or journal mentioned not to go out between 10am - 3pm? I think that only applies to those at risk. In this case with no risk factors mentioned, in my opionion the answer should be to apply sunscreen. More discussions are welcome.

i guess you made it clearer young_doc to me.. so if the guy has risk factors then you advice him not to go out from 10 to 3.. i think the dude in UW question had a depigmented skin.. so that makes sense.. and if the guy has no risk factors as in the nbme 2 question and here it is best to go out after sunscreen application atleast 30 mins prior.. thanks mate..
