so here it is
Epinephrine is alpha1, alpha2, beta1, beta2 agonist
alpha1 causes inc BP,
alpha 2 no effect on HR & BP
beta 1 inc HR
beta 2 dec BP
so when alpha1 blocker is given , BP decreases due to unrestricted beta 2 action!!

hi kity sorry but u r wrong that alfa 2 dont have effect on heart rate
it does have alfa2 agonist inhibit NE feed back inhibition clonidine methyldopa ,release and alfa blocker increase NE realease bye take cre

amritt786 you are right.. thanks for remindin me.. its a fact but I never corellated this together.. although I am wondering if We should consider alpha 2 effects while interpreting the graphs too..

best of luck kity.
dont slow down this is the last exam and u can do it very well. when u feel tired and fed up try doing qs only. be happy. u will leave that behind soon.

hi p2b... august??? I started my diary on 20th june & it says 3 mnths.. so in sept it was supposed to be.. but with all the breaks I am enjoying I always knew it will go till october..
Thanks a lot doc-08 yes thsi is my last exam.. so I wnna do my best .. but last 3 days just went I didnt read.. my nerves all back in laec now & attacking neuroanat.. hope to finish it today + a chapter of pharma too...
will do it today..NO MORE NONSENSE..
My mom says noteven dare to consider postponing the exam 
so leaving reast on god I begin my countdown

& afferent for corneal reflex is Trigeminal nv right???

Corneal reflex has 2 components to it. the sensory which is the afferent passed via Trigeminal nerve the Ophthalmic division at that and the motor or the blink reflex which passes via Facial nerve.
I think we r talking of the same person with the loss of smell..so the question would be which nerve did he severe..grrrr...Trigeminal I'll say..

Oh well done. I read FA for Embryo and in my first read I had added all the points form gross anatomy in my FA. I have also added notes from Q bank and UW. that is all I am going to do.
HY: Meckels, Kidney develpoment and pancreas.

Biochem coming along?
I still have along way to go. UW and Pharm distracted me. Even 12hrs is not enuff..... after studying till 2 at night i wud be up by 6 and be fine in the day now even 6 hrs of sleep makes me sleepy in the day. is it the pre-exam syndrome or plan-ole lazy-bones?
And my cutie pie my biggest distraction!!!!!!!! MOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMY!!!!!!!!

Thanks Mt for coming in my journal..
thought would update a lil now..well last days are all the rollercoaster days for me.. I am not at all organized.. picking everything owhich i get my hand && then leave & start another in just an hour or so..
did Neuro, biochem, recnetly & kept jumping to Qs & KLN...
now will read my notes+KME + Qn for few dyas..
ay god give strength to all of us..

Kity, keep your focus! Muster up your self-discipline and try to stick to one topic and know it absolutely cold before moving to the next. I'll admit, it's not easy, but once you start, it won't be so hard. Also, like Shwe said, keep doing your questions. How are your scores these days? Let us know of your progress, so we can praise or push!!!

I recently did NBME 1 got 40/35/35/38... I think I just need a good fast review & then I am good to go.. rther than wastingmy time trying to go over everything once again.. havent got much stamina left now.. & with this match in Ivs thing.. I better give it soon.. so leaving any hope of 99 & will give it soon.. b4 Interview season comes me over my head & I start worrying abt 0 ivs I got.. so plan to run now with FA.. thats it.. for now..
hope to finfish it in 3-4 days..
