Hi, vyseerx Thanks for the message. I am sorry that I don't know the answers of the questions, that why I posted out to have opinions of everyone. Does that mean that I can't post questions or I am not responsible because I don't the answers? If so, why do we need the forums? And if so, I'll certainly quit posting if I don't know the answers. nuiz ::very_confused::

OCD I suppose you have to make a genuine effort you get answers yourself. after all you are preparing for USMLE and you need answers. when you have a genuine doubt , a dificult concept, you can ask for help from some one(request for that specifically) but a question like this, does it help any one? what does the question ask? what is testing?when on treatment for a chronic condition like schizophrenia , a patient has to come to see you! what is abnormal in this? and to my utter dismay, somebody has answered , dystonic reaction to medication.!!!!!!!!!! dystonic reaction is an established sideffect of antipsychotic drugs, how can it be a type of behaviour? and is regular visits of pateint , while on treatment a MANNERISM? baffling! i want to know what is your source for this question, and what is your intention (what factoid you want to test ,whether rote memory, or concept, or simply what it is) in posting this question? i hope you understand, and explain

I thought you know more about psychiatry than I do. How much do you know schizophrenia? How many schizophrenic patients have you seen? I have seen a few. A schizophrenic patient comes to me like this, of course I would make sure his symptomes, signs and behaviours are part of schizophrenia itself or are part of the side effects of the related medications. Mannerism is part of schizophrenia, whereas dystonia is part of the side affect of the medications. If the pt does not present with dystonic manifestation, how do you know this is the medicine's side affect rather than Mannerism which some schizophrenic patients fairly often present to doctors. Regarding where this question came from, you have right to ask, I have right not to answer. I have some similar questions which are recollected and unpublished, I guess I have to sort out myslef because all thes questions would make concepts more clear. Who knows what's going to turn out and I don't want to take risks. Besides I am very busy working in the hospital at the moment, and have no time to fight with you before the next stept2 exam. Bye the way, you are very good at psychiatry, why don't you check yourself out--what kind of personality do you have? All the best.
