#4 actually pramipepexole and ropinerole (Kaplan is a source) OCP will block production of androgens by blocking LH and should be used for Tx in POS spironolactone block at receptor site - Tx for hirsuitism, but i don't remember what else can cause hirsuitism

Finasteride is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor which is used in women who r post menopausal Flutamide, new therapy, is a potent nonsteroidal selective antiandrogen without progestational, estrogenic, corticoid, or antigonadotropin activity. it is effective as therapy for hirsutism (and also acne); flutamide is expensive and has caused fatal hepatitis.

still have lil misunderstanding concerning fenasteride. is it DHT cause hirsuitism or testosterone or both? if mostly testosterone, how fenasteride going to help? also 5-alfa reductase is tissue specific, is this enzyme exist in women?

Dihydrotestosterone is the androgen that acts on the hair follicle to produce terminal hair. This hormone is derived from both the bloodstream and local conversion of a precursor, testosterone. The local production of dihydrotestosterone is determined by 5-alpha-reductase activity in the skin. Differences in the activity of this enzyme may explain why women with the same plasma levels of testosterone can have different degrees of hirsutism.
