Done with 33 preventive medicine questions in UW, got 63%(first time). I read Kaplan and secrets for this topic that I think it is not enough so i shall get to work with the answers and learn from mistakes. Enjoy your weekend everyone

Done studying the UW explanations of Preventive Medicine (very important chapter) now it is time for Toxicology. I will read Kaplan and FA for this then consolidate with 25 UW questions. Happy Sunday everyone

Ivonne, you're doing great... You're really commited and I am sure you will get a big fat 99. You deserve it! I will be taking step 3 in January- that is the plan anyway; I am still having a hard time deciding what to study but I have learnt that CK prep is very important for step 3 as well. I will have to reread the CK lecture notes again, hopefully it wont take me more than 10 days or so (just a very quick review). Anyway, I do hope we will meet again and have a good time (I remember that day near the lake before your CS exam, I really had a great time with you).
Anyway, keep it up. You are an inspiration for me as well. Study hard. You know it'll pay off big time in the end.

Alexa: Thanks, I believe that I can get that "fat 99" he,he this time my prep is different planning to do UW twice, reading less staff but trying to mastering them and ultimately because i believe that we all can do it  . All the best with step 3, I am 100% that you will ace it. Based on what you are saying i should start my prep for step 3 as soon as I am done with ck...some day. Definetely we had a great time the day before CS, Gosh I never laughed more in my life...
ok. I am done with poisoning, got 72% in UW (just 25 question s) so i am done with my today's goal. It feels good to say it!!!! DONE!!!.....well just to study the answers and I am all set for today. Ready for bed afterwards.

Good morning everyone, I am done with my notes regarding poisoning UW explanations, also on UW vacation until i am done with OBGYN, Peds and Nephrology(IM). I start officially with OBGYN today, shouldn't have any problem in speeding up. Here I go...6 out to 173 pages(kaplan notes along with 55 pages of FA 2007). Happy today because my consumer's bill was just $30...

Hey Ivonne, I've been reallymotivated by your journal. I bought the Crush step 2 some time ago , and now you are saying the 1st new version is better, is it worth buying , .. how is it so far that you have read some of it ?
Would appreciate your advice , Also out of curiosity , where are you from ? Feel free not to answer

Hi Phobos81, thanks for stopping by. Actually the book I just bought is FA 2007 which is very useful. It has the answers of at least 60% of the UW questions, mneumonics and lots of visual aids. Regarding Crush step 2, i found that it has the same content than step 2 secrets so I use basically Secrets. I am originally from Peru but living in US for a couple of years. Good luck to you and feel free to visit me and dropping a line.

Hey Ivonne, looks like your studying is going well Any NBME's coming up anytime soon? I'm doing OBGYN as well. It's a very slow topic for me too. I even resorted to watching the kaplan videos in the evenings. The guy does a pretty decent job though, if you can stay awake. I like is flow chart for management of obstetric complications the best. He had some good diagrams as well. I'm going back and reading the notes again today.

Ok so far I finished yesterday 46 out of 173, actually i am having more fan studying Kaplan notes along with FA that BTW my FA is full of notes (saves me time). Today's goal: at least 30 pages more of kaplan notes...come on...focus

BAX: Don't worry as soon as you get your 100% focus you will speed up...big time. When are you planning to take the test?
DONE !!!! with my yesterday goal so 78 out of 173. i am seriously loving FA, there are some topics that have more information than the kaplan notes but- of course- they lack of some other topics, so studying together is a good thing in terms of reading 2 books with different format, it is less boring and ultimately faster. I am making supernotes on FA and in a separate notebook, just addicional info. I feel very motivated today...love studying

I know i need to work harder ... well i am in page 103 out of 173 but that means that I am done with OBSTETRICS ( humm noticed that kaplan notes didn't cover hyperemesis, IUGR, oligo, polyhydramnios, trophoblastic disease) but luckily FA will patch up that deficiency. Now the beautiful GYNECOLOGY is waiting for me...I will start it tomorrow, no less than 30 pages...

Hey thanks Supriya, all the best to you. I had many distractions yesterday  that affected my focus so I decided just to stop and relax and be ready for a new productive day which might be TODAY . Just in page 115 out of 173. Weekends are the best time for me to speed up so here I go...will report my progress later...

Ok. Ready to finish GYN, today. I started on Nov 12th to present so that means 7 days for 170 pages that means 24.3 pages/day+ FA...whatever....I will try to improve for PEDS, anyways as you said njcjzy, the most important is to stick it to our head but the only way that works for me is by questions so tomorrow I will read twice FA (OBGYN) and the questions in Qbook. Enjoy your studies everyone.
