Thanks guys for stopping by. Well I am noy happy tonight, I know that my weak area was behavioral sciences in step 1 and now I scored low in Psyquiatry in UW 63% mmmmmm I have to fix it. I may need to read again the whole book of Behavioral sciences before doing more questions.

Just finished work and ready to hit the books. Good news I am going home after i am done with CK for a couple of weeks and before I start step 3 prep. I haven't seen my family in a couple of years. It hurts but happy now that I know i am going to see them very soon and hopefully with my ECFMG certification in my hands.

psych is very straight forward .. read the question and then pick the exact opposite of what you normally would do.
for example, when they give you an ethics question where the guy doesn't have health insurance, and can't afford the medication. In real life you would kick him to the curb, refer to the free clinic, and never reschedule with him again. On the exam, you would cancel appointments ofyour paying patients, and schedule him, and then offer to pay for all his expenses till he recovers. Which will be never, but that should be just fine with you.
If it's therapy question, and the lady is looney, in real life you would give her haloperidol and make everyone happy. On the exam you would offer up the cheapest solution first. Begining with your time, which is worth nothing, and counsel the patient. Then indiv/family/group therapy (b/c no one else's time is worth anything either) and finally medications, for which of course you flip the bill.
If it's a biostats question, pick "B" and move on.

hey Ivonne
i think you are making a great effort in studying and working at the same time. but it'll all be worth it in the end. i haven't started studying for step3. i haven't even touched a book. just printed out some stuff. until i have my cs result, it's just taking my time vacationing trying to forget abt usmle. london was amazing. wheoever is from london on this forum, i envy you guys. its the most beautiful city i've seen so far. next is rome on the list, but after cs results are out hopefully ill have a reason to celebrate with my friends there.
i know you are still studying very hard and i should be ashamed that i am talking abt vacations and trips, but to be honest when i was studying for ck and cs, thinking of those trips and the things i'll see and people i'll meet, was amongst the main things that kept me going. we deserve a big treat after so much work. so its another three weeks and hopefully step3 prep will start right after that. im actually looking forward to studying for step3 after this long break. it's like i'm more energetic than ever. i hope i won't lose my energy after oct10... i'm praying for us both
for now though, be focused on ck, get this demon over with and think abt the drinks youll have after, the trip to home and the family you will meet again soon.
ps: i'm taking spanish lessons

Hi Ivonne, glad to hear that you can go back and visit your family after your CK. Is that wonderful? Don't you want to hold a very nice score to them and let them be proud of you? Work hard, my friend, you will get a dreamed 99.

Alexa: I feel so lucky to have you as a friend. Sure, that with all of that energy and a background of 99/99 your step 3 will be a piece of cake for you. 20 more days to go to get our CS results...Thanks for your caring words means a lot to me.
njcjzy: Wouldn't be wonderful to hold a nice score to let them feel proud. Yessssssss.
Ok nothing else is more important to me today that study for CK, no distractions are allowed. More I wait to take this exam more life changes come up. I hate it. I am almost forgetting what i already studied. It sucks . But as Dr sharvil said we are limited only by what we think and this is something addicional NOTHING WILL STOP ME TO GET MY DREAMED SCORE.

I do not want to PROCASTINATE anymore. Still working in Psyquiatry in antipsychotic medications. I will nail down all the concepts, pathophysiology of disease and mechanisms of symptoms. In this way I am enjoying to study. Let's keep going.

Done with the explanations of UW first 46 questions, going slow but enjoying this prep and I think that is very important. I got 63% last week and eventually I will get a better score after one week of reading step up psyq, reading again Kaplan and Barbara Fadem. Lets see...

Anuba: Yes I read Faden for step 1 and re-study some chapter for step 2ck. It is a wonderful book.
Feyza: It depends on your background knowledge in PSYQ, in my case I performed poorly in Behavioral sciences in step 1 that's why i am spending A LOT of time in this area.
