Ok today I just have a few hours to study but will use it wisely. Material that is not covered in this new timetable has to left behind for instance some chapters of PEDS. Will finish if I have free time at any scheduled day. Good luck everyone! Scored 86% in the last block of kaplan Qbank, it made me happy...ok 4 hours to finish 50 pages of surgery kaplan notes. I was sent the same cd for all the test applications. Also, I think you can download those practice tests from the usmle.org website. ___________________ BW

But I have started today with a better vigor, did 1 block of Peds from UW and got 60%. I wish I had done these questions before, but I hope I can learn from this and improve my scores. Aim for today was 2 blocks of UW with explanations and 60 pages of Peds. I am done with 1 block and explanations, now going to start with Kaplan, and will finish by doing another block for today. I hope to finish Peds with UW and Kaplan Q bank in 5 days. Today is my 2nd day and I need to make it a big one today. Plan is finish all subjects by 19-20th and take NBME. After that I will just do questions and open the Kaplan notes to see what I dont remember. Its 2:20pm here and going to have lunch, will give you an update on pages ina few hours. Keep up the good work, hope you do well.

So are you doing subject-wise UW and kaplan Qbank? Try to do some random, timed and unused questions in kaplan Qbank. I did UW subject-wise and now kaplan randomly. Keep focus!! As for me I am done with the first 25 pages of surgery (not the 50 i planned) and now I have to do some other duties for about 5 hours and then back to the books and finish up the today's target. Thanks nany, yeah FINALLY i have scheduled this test...and just enjoying the last days of certification process. I am basically done with Surgery, Psych and Peds Kaplan notes (though still left with 20% of peds). I have been doing USMLE world as timed, all subjects mode. Results have been all over the place from 50-71%, with an average of 60%. I hope I can pull it up to a consistent 65% after doing Medicine and Gynae. My plan is to do Medicine the next 10 days, with 2-3 blocks of USMLE world every day. I am done with GIT for today. I will also revise the peds portion topic wise that correspond with Medicine. So by 20th I will be done with Medicine, Peds, Psych and Surgery and around 80% of USMLE world. (I am also making notes of USMLE world, do you think that is a good idea, given the amount of time it takes to write it down. I am spending 2-3 hrs just reading and writing notes for the explanations of 1 block). After that plan is to do gynae in 3 days. So will have 7 days before the exam, with notes and USMLE world done. I will most probably than just do MCQ's and revise notes, and open kaplan if i THINK i am forgetting something. I know this is by no way an ideal plan, but its a risk i have to take to get done with this exam, I have to get back to my post-doc by the end of this month. Not planning to take NBME, dont need a low score on it to push my confidence down. You will do great, I am sure. Hard work always pays off. Good Luck and keep us posted.

Regarding the NBME which is a reliable assessment test is useful if there is time to improve weak areas but everything in the usmle's is so personal because at the end the most important to get a residency position is the full package not just scores. I read post-exam experiences of just few weeks of prep and getting great scores maybe it is related with test taking skills or simple just very bright minds. Good luck to you and don't stop posting. Just enjoying the psyquiatric DVDs 6 out of 13, OMG they are so funny to watch...thanks Dr Alina Gonzales you make psyquiatry so fun to remember. Scoring 84% in the Qbook and still making silly mistakes...yeah side effect of olanzapine is weight gain but it is not the most common for God's sake it is sedation!!.
