Hi guys, im happy to be able to post my experience. It won´t be long though.
First of all you need to be believe in yourself and the things you can achieve with your brilliant mind. I was an average student in med school I used to split up my studying time between medical stuff and languagues, as I speak 4 languagues, so I never dedicated a 100 percent of my time to medicine, but things changed when i thought about the USMLE.
I studied for 6-8 hours a day for 10 months because I had a lot of confusions and gaps that needed to be filled If i was to ace this exam!!!. I was very weak in Molecular Biology, Biochemestry, Inmunology and Behaviral Sciences. In a previous post I stated that they mostly tested concepts, but they tested them their way, not as we think they might do.
I used kaplan Notes for all subjects and as a complement, I used First Aid, BRS Pathology, High Yield Neuroanatomy. Learn or memorize all pics appearing in High Yield Neuro, as i got 2 pics that were very similar.
My qbank score was 72 percent, UW 71 percent and my NBME 4 was 242/98, which predicted my score well, as I got a 97.
I want to thank God, Jesus Christ, my parents my Girlfriend and this wonderful forum for all their support in times of despair. Respect your schedule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....Now Im packaging my stuff and moving on to step 2, which I will ace too.

Congratulations ... GL on step2 ....
i have a Q please: cuz of the fact that you had a prolonged study, how long did your first read take? and how detailed was it? and when should someone go ahead to the second read?

hi there. well. my firs read was excellent, as i tried to learn as many concepts as i could. on my second reading i concentratted on solving questions and first aid. i also listened to goljian., but it can be overwhelming, because the longer your prep is the more anxious you can get so you need to learn how to cope with it.
Yes i had some cns path, two qs from brain tumors, meningioma and oligo..intraventricular hemor.etc..good luck

aaaaaah !! dear Pulvinar...you know what the title of your topic looks like to me.... like the huge remote control red formula 1 ferrari with the pilots suit and checkered flag in Toys R Us looks to my 4 yr old son he has to save money for some long time for this dream
