Lets say i start out with LIQOR AAA with in my mind with a little modification for any problem other then pain (as its orignally designed for pain)I come to the Last 'A' of the pnemonic. Now where do i go from there. Do i move onto PAMHUGSFOSS. Or do i go to 'ROS' ie Review of systems. If i do ROS for an initial complaint of fever with chills (or any other Presenting complaint ) do i have i ask Closed ended questions such as
Do you have Cough?
Do you have Shortness of breath ?
Do you have N/V ?
Do you have headach?
Do you have edema ?/ Swelling in some part of the body?
Do you have thyroid problem ?/ Swelling in the neck?
Do you have problems with urination ?
Do you have problems with your bowel habits ? etc
From what i understand these Q's will give me positives & negatives relevant to the history reaching a Dx, but they are close ended questions and too many of them being asked will make me loose marks in communication & interpersonal skill parts ? confused may someone put some light !!! or may be my understanding of the questions is wrong

I have an impression that there is a missed point: you have to start with open-ended Q so the SP will reveal his complaints (will say what actually disturbs him), but afterwards it is absolutely OK and, even more, necessarry to ask targeted Q to make up the story... So, you are absolutely fine...

Thanks for the feedback.I know that point. But where to draw the line between necessary and way too many close ended Q's, i guess is the trick & dilemma of the exam. contrary to what my impression was ,it has changed from asking everything possible to asking just few Q's from the statistics i am getting on failings at interpersonal "& Comm & vital reason i find in close ended's.
