hi guys,
i wanted to know that as soon as i complete my basic science i.e 2yrs MBBS can i give step 1 exams.
if it's allowed i want to give in my 3rd yr......
plz..help....seniors....

is your system of 4 or 6 years?
i know that mbbch is 6 years ... so you can take the step 1 after you finish your b. sciences which would be after your 3rd year not after your 2nd

yes, assuming you are a medical student in india, it is better to get step 1 out of the way while still in school. that's how the americans do it, and i can see now the reason for that. when you do/finish i'ship, you will only have the clinical subjects to deal with, whether after final year exams, or during/after i'ship, when all the clinical material is relevant and fresh in your head.

hi praying4a99 ,
we have a 41/2 yrs course with 1 yr internship. basic science first 2 yrs. does it mean that after completing by basic science i will be allowed to take Step1????

yah, i think so ...
the important thing is finishing the basic sciences (no matter how long that takes)
our system here is 6 then 1 internship !
