Does step 3 help in getting interviews????????please please respond me, it'll be really difficult for me to take step 3, but if it will be of even 1% benefit to me to get an interview, I'll go for it.........as I have low scores in step 1/2.
Thanks!

I met a lady who failed to be matched last year. She told me that when she went for interviews in California, all programs asked her about step 3. So I think if you pass at first attempt, it's favorable.

Thanks robin..........alot
Did she tell you her scores? and asking about step 3 meant if they wanted to offer her H1B or were they looking for something else? Only if you know.....

Step three pass is only important if you are looking for an H1b visa. It is important that you pass it on the first attempt if you are going to take it.

It definitely varies from program to program, it may be advantageous at places where u interview well and they are prompted to take u in if u hv passed step 3........but at the same time, at places u dont interview well enough, they might see ur low step 3 score or second attempt in a negative shade.....hope this helps.
ps: I was in a similar dilemma and I decided to get it over with and passed with a low score.......i'll know the implications soon.
