try to get it done as soon as you feel prepared..the earlier u hav ur score the better for u to get more calls....ideally by sept 1st but by mid sept shud be good enuf

Thanks prader willi for the info. Can you tell me when should I give my step2 ck exactly so that I will receive ecfmg certification. Is it ok to keep aug 15 as a deadline?? Should I have to give CK earlier than that or can I extend a week upto august third week? ..Please let me know ur suggestions!!

Theoretically, the earlier you can be certified, the better it is.
The ERAS postoffice starts transmitiing applications from 1st Sept. the programs start reviewing in 10-14 days. ( BBB will be able to comment on this). If your results are ready by last week of september, I think you will be fine.
Now here is another thought. No one can guarantee, but if you have ur Step 1 and CS results at the time of application and you put Step 2 CK pending on the application form and your results are ready even by early October; you may be fine. All depends on your credentials, visa status, LORs and experience. One late result ( by late I dont mean January) will not be a negative factor if your rest of application is good and the PD wants to see you in the interview.
Again, Ideally the application should be complete at application time, but if you have your results before interview season, it can be okay too. Infact, you can always try to call or email the programs to let them know that ur results are updated and you are interested in the program thats why you have called them to make sure they know about ur application update.
This is my humble opinion ( personal experience with CSesults being available after 12th October). You have to decide when you have to take the exam and what risks you are willing to take. Good Luck.

Thanks a lot Moozy.....Well..It was very helpful. I am afraid that 2 months is too short for my prep...Someone in the forum have mentioned that
"90 in August is better than 99 in october"....Is that the case? Can I rely on this.. I have a 95 in step 1 and my CS results are pending. I am a recent graduate and don't have clinical expereince here in US. I am totally confused on picking up the date for CS...Wat u guys think on this? any suggestionsa re welcomed!
