I just found out I failed step2ck . . . advice please . . . how is this going to effect my chances of getting into an Internal Medicine Residency??

prepare well and try to score more than 90 and get some USCE. If you are having good contacts, you will surely get in to residency irrespective of attempts and scores.

I'm not going to lie to you. One of the ways programs screen people is by whether they have passed or failed a step exam. It is not the end of the world, however. Do as well as you can when you take it again, and you will still be able to go somewhere. You may have to be less picky about where you end up, but really you just need three years to be licensed.

Try to get a high score and while searching for programs try to apply to those without a cutoff with the usmle scores. Good Luck
