A 19 year old African American woman with sickle cell anemia has had palpitations and dizziness for 3 days. She works part-time in a daycare center. Her temperatuere is 100.5F, pulse is 110/min, and resp are 18/min. The cardiac exam is significant for a systolic murmur heard best at the apex. Her lungs are clear, and her abdominal exam is unremarkable. Lab studies reveal a hemoglobin of 6.0g/dL. A blood smear stained with Wright's stain demonstrates Howell-Jolly bodies adn the absence of reticulocytes. Which of the following is the msot likely pathogen?

A. Influenza virus

Is this aplastic anemia or pure red cell aplasia??There is no description about neutrophils and platelets so we can not say that this is aplastic anemia.
