many times when we think that the road ahead is hard , we must remember that what we have today, as resources, facilities, encouragement, support and expresivity.. our parents didnt have so much or even any of them. Life was hard for them but we never felt as our parents never expressed it. If they ACED.. WE TOO WILL..... They will always love us, they know we can, so why should we doubt... if we work in the right direction with the right purpose we all will be successful, so that we can tranfer this assest to future generations as our parents have....

nice thought ... I want to say ... All of you Doctoers out there ... males and female (females a little more) please give your children as much as your parents gave you ... Im sure most of your parents were almost always there for you so, please be so with your children ... i know your very busy with work and continuous studies but whose going to be there for the little ones? day care - baby sitter - maid ? no one is going to love and care for them as you would so please always be there for them so they end up being succesful as you are right now ... all the money there is to have is never going to fulfill your ego ... if your a Doctor and husband/wife is too ... i think youll be making like 300,000 bucks! that is sure more than enough to have a happy life. So, i beg you dedicate some of your life and time in your children becouse they are sure the best thing you can invest in ... GL

that is a wonderful and really realistic way of looking at things.we are so rarely thankful for all that He has bestowed upon us,and for the countless joys that our parents and spouses and children bring into our lives.

Let me tell you this. I am an old grad, husband is a successful surgeon & a responsible & lovng person. We have 3 wonderful & smart children, ages 8-10-12 yrs. old. I am an IMG lets say very lucky to have a family. BUT back of my mind I am still longing to be a doctor here in the US too. It's true we have to take care of our children & I know if they will become successful& it's just like I am more successful too. In what? In raising my kids. Now that they're all on vacation I want to go back to studying step 1 .. still trying to work hard! It seems impossible! I can't even stay reading & focused for a full hour. Should I just stay MEDICINE out of my life , go back to school or really study hard. AS hard as I could, just focus. Well in reality it is hard to do but if I work hard maybe then I will be successful on my own for self worthiness too. I am not saying being a Mom is not making me happy but I will be happier once I become more successful in becoming a doctor myself too, w/ a wonderful family . Is this just a dream for me? Having more money does not make one happier but I believe once I will be able to do what makes me happy then I'll be truly happier. SORRY am I making sense at all? Totally I thank GOD for everything in my life esp. my heart's desire of becoming a practicing doctor too.

P4a99, I fully agree with you that raising the kids is the most important job for parents and especially mothers. That's what I have been doing for all those years. Now when they all are going to school , I feel they are not as dependant on me as they were a few years ago and I can and should give some time to the desire of my heart i.e to be a doctor again. Most of the women doctors are already married to reasonably well off guys and do not need to work for a car or a house but to fulfil their obligation towards their profession for which they had worked no less harder than their male classmates. As far as kids are concerned, they never grow up in the eyes of their parents. My parents still keep worrying about me that their daughter is "alone" in a foreign country .

sure parents will always worry sure you have to fulfil your desire and needs sure it would be great for you to get a US license sure its wonderful to help the community and ill people but the thing of the two parents having a full time job probably wouldnt be the best for the children ... i dont think your old so im sure your children are very young, atleast not in high school !!! so sure they need you around them ... kids always need loving mommies around them ... they will never have someone to fill up your space you dont want to say to your self someday coming that i wish i spent some more time with my children Best of luck and succes
