Anyone recall what co-factor you use w/ Tyrosinase? And the most commonly asked disease associated w/ that co-factor deficiency? Clinical manifestations of that dz?

Cu is the Cofactor used with tyrosinase. Would the most asked disease be Menkes (kinky hair)? It presents with seizures, failure to thrive, and which is kinky colorless or steel-colored hair that is easily broken.

well..the d/s I was really referring to was Wilson's. Can you tell me the clinical manifestations of Wilson's?

well, you asked for Cu deficiency. In wilsons d/z ceruloplasin is suppressed which results in an INCREASE of Cu in the liver. Wilsons presents with Kayser-fletcher eye, hepatitis and neuro symptoms.

and i completely confused? I sure hope not!
