IMO this patient's request for death should trigger the physician to do a complete survey or exploration and understanding of the patient's suffering, why the request is being made ,what is troubling patient,if particular time patient is feeling distressed etc etc, and help sustained effort to relieve the distress.

Always good to know some latin in this world, and i mean for anything ! Nonmaleficence --->primum non nocere--->doing no harm Beneficence-->latin beneficentia--->active goodness or kindness, charity ! Hope that helps ! Under no circumstances, an MD can administer a drug just because "Patient asks doc to give him something so that he can die". Always remember Hippocratic oath !!!
