There was a step 1 question on how the treatment of narcolepsy affects REM duration, freq etc.....anyone know?

  #2

pt with narcolepsy has short REM latency, less total REM, interrupted REM.
There is a chance that treatment may improve all that. Not sure though
It treated with stimulant agents and schedueled naps

  #3

narcolepsy REM sleep occurs in less than 10 min.
Treatment of choice- forced naps at regular time of day.TCAs are suppressor of REM. Anyway we need to suppress REM
