Is it possible for one to start a residency programme without the ecfmg certification, if he has fulfilled all the requirements for it but it will not be issued by the residency start date? Does anyone know of such a case?

Answer is no - you need ECFMG to get visa or licensure.

Hi.
Can you please tell me whether ECFMG certificate will e issued automatically since you have passed all the components and they have all the docs... or should i apply. I cant figure this out from the booletin

hey , when u r done with step1 , 2 and cs they will send it automatically. i got mine after i cleared step1 , 2 and cs . i didnt have to apply for it..

Not true you do not need an ECFMG certificate is you do a fifth pathway program
