What if there is a case of schizophernia?

Could everyone go over what History they would ask or maybe what PE they might do? What if the patient is non-communicative?

I guess i will go with pscyhological hx. do you hear voices that other dont ? is a close ended question ? rather starting out with what brings you in today ? will be better in my opinion. he says i hear voices ? you can ask 'can you plz explain more about your problem/these voices that you hear/what do they say or do you know whose voices are these ? I may ask for drug history ? Hx of seizures ?Head trauma? FHx of any psychiatric illness ? I think these might be the areas i need to look further into.I may conduct an MMSE.I guess it can help assess the concentration, memory, orientation , abstraction( if schizo case abstraction & orientation will help) you can ask for the SAW Q's of depression, ie sleep apetite & weight.
P/E i guess will include a general survey- appearence is important to note i guess. Any signs of trauma , tongue bites , needle marks or listening to heart likewise for murmur (if needle abuse) I might do a CNS exam.May as well do a thyroid exam.I am also a bit confused and havent as yet developed a method for the psychological profiling.Need to get some feedback but from what i know CS cases are based on common prevailing symptoms possibly encountered in routine family practice, not towards reaching a diagnosis and also not for cases demanding some exceptions.feedback requested
