Q for the day:

The proliferation of cytotoxic T- cells is markedly impaired upon infection with a newly discovered human immunodeficiency virus designated HIV-V. The defect has been traced to the expression of a viral-encoded enzyme that inactivates a host-cell nuclear protien required for DNA replication.which protien is a potential substrate for viral enzymes?
A. TATA box-binding protien
B.Cap binding protien
C.Catabolite activator protien
D.Acyl-carrier protien
E.single stranded binding protien.

I didn't understand the question even.So please help.

A. TATA box-binding protien
B.Cap binding protien
D.Acyl-carrier protien
C.Catabolite activator protien
all these are required for transcription and translation ie gene expression

E.Single-strand binding protein, also known as SSB or SSBP, binds single stranded regions of DNA to prevent premature reannealing. The strands naturally want to revert to the double helical form, but SSB binds to the single-strands, keeping them separated, and allowing the DNA replication machinery to perform its function.
