whew that test is a test of endurance. i hit the wall about halfway through the last block.. all in all, i felt it was a pretty fair test, but many questions to me seemed tricky in that unless i felt 100% on the answer, i was easily drawn to distractors. i had TONS of obgyn (thanks God!) and psych was heavy and very confusing, hardly ever very cut and dry. pharm wasnt huge, i had made a list of about 200 drugs i had seen on world q's and memorized it, it got me probably 10 q's which i was very thankful for. i had one whopping eye question. lots and lots of cardio. all in all, if i had it to do over again, and i hope i dont, i would have read secrets once more strait through (its a very good source for the real thing, i used it with world) fa was too dry for me. i am exhausted but hopeful. the best thing i can recommend is to do as many q's as you can, be as familiar as possible with the material, and know your murmurs! best of luck to everyone and God bless!

i did all of world, 4-8 hours a day for 6 weeks. random tutor mode (i think tutor mode is important as you get the positive or negative reinforcement immediately). i read through secrets many times as i did world, and toward the end i only read sections i was weak in, which for me were heme/onc, neuro, and urogenital. i have to be honest, i started with a 51% in world, and really i didnt raise it much, but i was gitting 55's and the occasional 60 at the end. probably overall a 54% which is very borderline. over on sdn everyne seems to score 65/70 which to me just isnt the norm. i am an fmg, recnt grad, for comparison purposes. my lowest percentile score was in internal med (also heaviest tested) which is why i did the drug list. i would read it over and over in the car mostly on down time, i think it was about 200 drugs. but it was easy to memorize. i highly recommend it, if i pass (Lord willing!) it will be because of that list. i only saw a few drugs on the real thing i had never heard of. usually, as to be expected, they made you come up with the disease before you could say which drug to give. so far as i know, they were mostly tried and true drugs. if i were to guess i would say my exam from had about 30 q's that were one word drug answers, and 2/3 were from my list, and most of the others i could rule out through the same method. i didnt get ANY glycogen storage disaeases (again thanks God!) and i have to say the biostats q's really made you think hard and ate up some time. know your psych cold, its so high yield and more reasoning than memorization. i only had 2 q's that i knew i had seen on word, almost as if they were lifted, but i think thats coincidence, there are only so many ways to ask certain topics you know? some people say 10 but it wasnt the case for me. i wish it were! i am glad its over. i didnt do any nbme forms for fear of losing confidence, maybe thats wrong, but time will tell. its going to be a long 3 weeks!
