WHICH ARE THE TWO ANTIBODIES ONLY FOUND IN LUPUS PATIENTS

anti-ds-DNA abs( indicating kidney affection esp when rising---->Poor indcator)
anti-SM abs (lupus only)
Anti-Histone abs---->Drug induced Lupus
Anti Phospholipid abs---only significant in preg fem--->high risk of misscarriage(LMWH through preg)+/- Thromboembolic risk but not as in preg nod

anti-SM

Both of these are SPECIFIC antibodies to LUPUS ONLY.

Anti-SM

Anti-DsDNA :
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (60%)
Associated with Lupus Nephritis
Associated with Lupus CNS Involvement
also seen in- not so frequently though -but no harm in knowing these
Sjogren's Syndrome
Rheumatoid Arthritis
Chronic active hepatitis
Biliary Cirrhosis
Epstein Barr Virus
Cytomegalovirus

anti-Sm is highly specific but not very sensitive for LES (only 30-40%), according to usmleworld.
