Over a period of 3 weeks a woman develps anorexia,irritability and confusion.serum Na 125mEq/L,urine osmolarity is increased.Assuming this is paraneoplastic syndrome,which of the diagnostic procedure results in abnormal finding

An interesting point is, any pulmonary pathology can cause SIADH, from pneumoniae, to other inflammotory processes, PE and even cancer.

sameway any CNS pathology can cause SIADH, trauma, tumor, infections, metabolic diseases etc,.
Its easier to remeber it this way, very useful for step2 in particular....
To put it in Conrad Fischer's words, "relieve yourself off intelectual enema by simplifying the differentials"

according to Goljan lectures, paraneoplastic syndromes : SIAD by variety of tumors, MOST COMMONLY-SMALL CELL CARCINOMA.
