pacemaker device put under flap of skin in chest or abdomen....
never in the heart......smallest pacemaker i know measures around 2.5 cms..........not possible to implant in cardiac tissue....what i remember was normal left ventricular wall thickness never more than 1 cm....think, how much will be rt. ventricle thickness will be.....

its the electrode which is passed thru one of the peripheral veins to the rt side of heart.......i dont know which wall......mostly rt. ventricular wall....cos rt. atrium has thinnest of all walls.

see if this helps u....

If I have only one choice I use the ventricle, however now we are using bimodal equipment (there are more physiologic), 1 electrode at the auricles and 1 in the ventricles, it is obvious that the equipment is install out of the heart and only the electrodes are in it.wink

Hey guys there are two types of pacemakers
a) transvenous
b) trancutaneous

transvenous are used on a permenant basis while transcutaneous are generally used on temporary basis
