what more can i say, took my exam yesterday, not really the best of people to comment on the exam considering that my score aint out yet but i just wanted to touch a few things that bothered me while i was studying .
the exam tests both your concepts ie long term memory and some short term stuffs ie memorisable stuff, thus i belive you have to balance the two, now what do i mean, if you go through kaplan or what ever textbook your using 2-3 tmes depending on you, that gets you the concepts, and please while going through this do solve questions in between this helps you to note down tiny big stuffs you missed as you read the books and also tests your level of understanding of the text and help you understand better.
that done, you can go ahead and study for the memorisable stuffs, this should be done towards the exam with a short review material like FA or KME depending on what suits you.and try to go through it as many times as you can as the aim is to master the memorisable stuffs.
my exam really had some straight forward questions, with the answers smiling at you made me wonder if it there was a trick behind it, i know coming from the experience i had wtih UW( but i guess it helpd me to think deeper during the exam)where most of the questions were twisted, at the same time i also had lots of questions you had to think your questions through and some that were unthinkable...
this forum was very helpful and i learnt a lot from it, especially through the questions i saw here, had a number of similar concepts i picked up from here tested on the exam.
want to say a big thank you to you guys, especially all those who in one way helped, and i hope i will be able to help others especially anyone who might be in my shoes in the future, i really didnt know it wuld be possible taking the exams at this stage of my pregnancy.
so now the waiting game starts, by Gods grace my bundle of joy will arrive soon(sooner than the result actually) and join me in the wait, hopefully will take my mind off the exam.
while i wait and pray for a good score in my exams, please one last request from you guys, do pray for me for a safe delivery, being a first time mom and a doctor(you know how we doctors seem to hate hospital according to dr golgan"because we know too much" ) i am quite scared and dont know what to expect.

hey all the best for your baby and your result! I must salute you for your bravery to go and take exam in ur last month! i think it must be hectic and difficult, make sure ur baby becomes doctor so that he can tell everyone that he has been to prometric before! ( what a stupid joke )

That is not fair, I had to take the test with GOD, you had GOD and the BABY, so you had extra company in the examination room 
I hope everything goes fine with the baby, if its a boy you can call him GOGETA
Now both of us are in the waiting game, at least you have the baby to play with

hi sss sss i am very glad 4 you i wish u a very decent scor as i find out u r in you last mounth of pregnancy tell me how did u feel during exam did your physical conditionhad effect on your concentration or you wwere ok with that and for the exam what was your study material and if you want to do this exam again what do you do differently and agine i am very glad for you thanks in advance

nasrin46,l didnt bother talking about my study material cos i felt it wont be of much use considering that i dont have my score yet but since you asked, i used kaplan basically for most of the courses except pathology of course where it was golgan, for microbiology i was having this phobia reading it, kaplan seemed too boring and so much of craming for me so i pickd up MMRS and it did the magic for me, i had to read it a portion a day and with how the book is outlined i kind of enjoyed reading micro. for behavioural science i went through kaplan once and felt i needed more so after i took an NBME and it turned out it was my worst area i had to do it from BRS and that ok helped a lot. last 2 weeks for me was bascially FA, 100 pages and my UW notes. if had to do this exam again i would have been more serious with my books and take the exam without delaying it soo much
the pregnancy was sure a lot of distraction,i almost gave up on the exam on a lot of occassions but my family's support kept me on plus this frum of course, you mentioned in the other thread that you are pregnant, now my advice if you can take the exam before you get too far in your pregnancy, the 3rd trimester for me was full of tiredness, eating and sleeping, and the babys kicks are somthing else, even during the exam so many times i hd to rub my stomach to try and calm down the kicks, (like that works), but basically you know what is infront of you kick or no kick you give it your all.but of course i had to take a break after every 2 blocks to go to the bathroom, take a snack and i also had to take tylenol half way when i started having a headache.

Good Luck, all that matter is you did it with all your best , score will be our prayer together too .
I like idea of let the future Dr ie your baby know that he or she had been in almost all usmle test with mommy & helping your dream comes through.
Will ask later in next week re your exm & prep . Tmr will be busy out .
Have a safe success delivery with both well being of mom & baby, how soon will it be ?

you will be experiencing the best (even the word BEST is not enough) wonderful gorgeous thing a woman can soon ...and that kicking small feet will be your stress balls every morning when you kiss and smell them and he/she traps your nose in between the toes giggling

You are so brave to have accomplished exam .Now is good time to go check out the hospital where you'll be during labor and the childbirth classes or lamaze is good idea .
