is hyokalemia a cause of alkalosis in a Pt w/ sever vomiting or is it b/c in alkalosis, H ions leave the cell to buffer Blood HCO3 and K enters the cell leading. I don;t if that makes sense?

i am also not so sure but i think vomiting leads to alkalosis like this:- gastric vomiting drives out the acid in it and thus depletes hydrogen ions and leading to a state of acid deficit and thus alkalosis..

Vomiting causes loss of H ion in HCL-containing gastric juice. The H ion deficit results in excess HCO3 causing metabolic alkalosis. Good attempt?
