Yes! If the patient says yes to any one of them , then counsel .Otherwise move to next question.

i have question wat if on history patient says almost 4-5 glasses per day. which is quite a big number... and on CAGE none with yes reply .... do we stilll have to counsell????

Hey ! Expect everyday common cases!! thats the rule.
What I did was ,
Yes to any one Q on CAGE ............ counsel, something like ....Iam a bit concerned about your drinking, alcohol has many ill effects ...............would you be interested to cut down ? if Yes ... lets set up an appt next week and talk more about it .
No to all on CAGE .........Said' I would like to advise you not to drink before and while you are driving,and try to limit to 2 drinks per day."

Thanx faraym..But should we ask CAGE questions to all who say that they have the habit of drinking alcohol???
I thought we should ask---How long?How much?
I am confused when to ask CAGE questions after these questions?Should we ask to all?

Relax sprint123,
When they say they drink, ask how much and how long? then quickly ask CAGE.
They'll be eager to say yes or no .This wont take much time.
