just guessing. Correlation does not mean causation and hence, even though the intercorrelation between the measures is .25, does not mean that if one measure is positive in a depressed then the other will also be positive and hence they measure different aspects of depression.

B makes sense. Think of it in terms symptoms. Each of the 4 measures(methods/techniques) checks different symptoms that distinguish depression from a normal individual but the symptoms don't have to be the same in the different techniques.
So each technique individually diagnoses depression but through different symptoms. However, there may be an overlap of 25% of symptoms in each of the techniques. Hope this was clear!
