what happens in defect in development of second pharyngeal cleft?

do u mean pouch? endodermal is called pouch...ectodermal infolding is called cleft....2nd cleft is covered by 2nd arch growing over and joining 5 th..if persistent space present..it forms branchial cyst...2nd endodermal pouch forms tonsil... :roll:

agree with USMLEASR....persistence of the 2nd cleft leads to branchial cyst, since it normaly obliterates.
