Can someone go over the Endocarditis's in this thread for me; some days im on the ball, but 2day for some reason,, i seem to have gotten a lil confused! what im asking is the following: those associated with IV drug abuse, dental procedures and the different pathogens as well as the side of the heart involved in a nice simplistic and more imp easy to remember way!!! S. Viridans is the MCC of Dental Disease & SBE = Sub acute Bacterial Endocarditis

nnl....i think, it was MUTILANS...which is most common for dental caries.... what do u say

that is correct drduck.. its one of the subtype of viridians (sanguis and the other is mutans)

remember something abt adhesins with the mutans strain.. i have all this info in my brain.. think its gonna blow up sooner of later!!lol!!

S. Mutans is the MCC of Dental Caries n S. Viridans is MCC of Gingivitis considering the current outlines where Gingivitis has been more common and Caries is radically treated the incidence has decreased of Mutans. This wht i know u can definitely Add more

strep viridans includes both strep mutans which causes dental caries and strep sanguis which causes sub acute bacterial endocarditis
