how come nobody mentioned the kids who leave healthy? or the ones who turn back from the cliff overnight? obviously, we lose some. can't save 'em all. but we try, just as we do in adults. plus, kids are waaaay less complicated than most adults. i can't quite figure out some adults, and i like to call myself one!

You can take it from diff perspectives... I rotated at an oncology dept and I was very sad because almost all of the inpatients were already terminal... so much death around depressed me...
After one of the interns told me that he wanted to be an oncologyst....  ... and his answer was that evem when most will die, he will have the oportunity to comfort those patients and their relatives, paliate thier pain, and see the smile of those few that got remission of their tumors...
I still don't want to be an oncologyst,  but the thing is that what was depressing for me was gratifying for another...

Anyways... I think is wiser to stick to the original algorithm... med student crazy or sane, lazy or hard worker, etc etc etc...

GOGETA,faraym ... thanks for sharing your thoughts ... wish for gogeta to get what you like not other people's dreams ... faraym : hope your children stay always healthy so you dont go through that experience with your loved ones. note: ... (secret) ... you said you love your mother so sure your husband loves his mother so plz dont "unlike" your mother in law at least like her for your husband's sake
