Initial test is X-RAY!!!

Doppler flow can be done while doing echo to assess the gradient across the coarctation to assess the severity!!

first step is Phisical exam--->bl pr difference between 2 arms, diminished LL pulse....etc

Initial diag test is C x-ray

PGE1 to keep the Ductus arter oppened

Then do an EKG followed by an echo to see the effect on the heart, doppler to see the degree of coarcitation

Then surgery if the patient is stable.
