I have a few questions about DDH.

1-Does it occur unilaterally and bilaterally or always bilaterally?

2-if clinically found on one side do we routinely do sonogram of the other side?

3-is the pavlik harness applied on both sides?

I am not sure whether it is unilateral or bilateral but it is common in GIRLS.

You can see for a click in the other side if click is heard in one side. If click is heard, Proceed for an USG.

Pavlik harness is applied only when it is proven by USG. so ,management in general would be like this :

On examination of right hip--->Click heard--->Do examination of left hip-->Do USG for the hip joint in which click is heard-->then Pvlik harness is used if infant is less than 6 months , from there to one year-->Put cast, older children>1 year-->Surgery!
