Another interesting q I came across -

A 43-year-old woman is found to have a blood pressure of 200/140 during
a routine examination for a life insurance policy. Further examination
reveals retinal hemorrhages and the electrocardiogram (ECG) shows left
axis deviation. Which of the following is most likely to be decreased in this woman?
A) Arteriolar density
B) Arteriolar wall thickness
C) Arteriolar wall to lumen ratio
D) Capillary wall to lumen ratio
E) Total peripheral Resistance

B) Arteriolar wall thickness

D would be my guess. This patient likely has malignant hypertension, so B, C and E are increased. A, I am not sure, but I think is not altered in hypertension.

mmmm very nice Qs im going for A) decr. arterolar density

High BP ---> actual loss of arterioles( decreased numerical density)--> autoregulatory mechanism
choise C Wall/lumen ratio if anything is INCREASED due to HTN--> hypertrophy arteries& arterioles---> thickening vessel
choise B i guess is wrong , read above
Choise E) TPR incr
