Here is what I'm planning on doing in my first minute:
-Read the CC and write it down
-Write down the vitals without units to save time (or maybe only the abnormal ones)?
-Think of some DD's that go with the CC
-Write my mnemonic for HPI (with assoc. symp according to the DD),
-Write my PMH mnemonic
(time up) -Knock, go in...
Good?
Any other ideas?
What do you all plan to do?

I will do the same except for including the patient name and NOT writing the chief complaint. I will write the DD also......Do you have pneumonics for all cases Virgo? That's great or else we can write the DD by the side.

Oh yes, patient name is important... Sorry I forgot to mention that... Will they give the first and last name?
My mnemonic for HPI is:
L I Q O R A/A A
location, intensity, onset, radiation, alleviating/aggrevating factors, assoc. symp.
For Onset: OCD FP: Onset, course (has it changed?), duration (how long?), Frequency (how often?) Precipitating factors (what brought it on?)
PMH: PAM HITS GUSS FOS
Prior complaints
Allergies
Medications
Hospitalizations
Illnesses
Trauma
Surgeries (PSH)
GI: BMW NAVET --- Bowel Movement, Weight changes, N/V, appetite, eating, travel
Urination
Sleep
Sick contacts
FH
Ob/gyn
SH: TIA SHOE
Tobacco,
Illicit drugs,
Alcohol,
Sexual Hx: Active? # of partners, M, F or both? use condoms, consistently?
Occupation,
Eating/diet
Good? Am i missing anything?

Full name will be given And we must use the last name!
Pneumonic are very good and detailed!Maybe you want to cut short depending on the case

Better write down only the last name , so you wont be confused!
