am sure somebody out there has been in my shoes before or knows someone who has so please your suggestions are welcome.

my exam is in a few days time, am in my 3rd trimester and the problem i have is that i really dont know what to take along with me to the exam centre, am scared of eating these days even though i have to do it cos the minute i get something in i start feeling sleepy and tired, its been affecting my last minute reading and am really sad about it.

i dont want to fall asleep halfway during the exam and when i get hungry and dont eat i start having a headache, dont know what to do.

guys please any suggestions???

SSS , you are one strong girl. I can see from your answers to the questions that you are vey well prepared. Do not worry , you will rock this exam.

I wish I could give you some solid suggestion about your problem but all I can say is , avoid carbs and take some proteins along , may be boiled eggs if you like them rolling eyes . What ever you want to take along , try that before your test day , so that you can know how will you tolerate it.

i agree with Unique 1.I'm in my second trimester and had my exam a few days ago.I was also worried about the things u said.I drank milk to help me sleep the day before my exam and my stomach was rumblin the exam mornin, i was so worried,but lucky for me, i went to the toilet once and that was it.I would advice u to take a light breakfast,somethin u have been familiar with.U can also take apples and juice or coke to take within breaks for the exam,just make sure u take them sparingly so u dont upset ur stomach or fill ur bladder too fast.Wishin u all the best.I'm sure u'll b ok

Maybe you can eat small nutritious snacks during the breaks, you will see, not knowing how you will breeze through the exam. Go to the grocery store, walk and look around , buy anything what you liked in your life, from salty, sweet,or sour tastes, so you know what to choose from. That what I do, it comforts me during the exam, and usually I end up taking it all back home grin For sure take some bananas, those are my favorite snack during the exam !

Don't worry, I know it is different during the 3rd trimester, but it does not mean you are not capable of passing the exam!

During the breaks go to the bathroom, stretch your arms and neck, refresh your face with the cold water, take Tylenol for the headache.

Most likely you will be stressed out, so don't worry about falling asleep halfway in test.

Not long before someone says 2 hard boiled eggs, banana , chocalate, juices with breaks, lunch, washing face , skip the tutorial etc, am sure you'll know deep breath in before starting each block .

If you , your stomach familier with ensure energy can drink, the chocalate one taste good & fill you , ask your Dr too. It has strawberry, vanilla flavor too , I think . I had those alot during my long ago preg through out order by my Dr. cause I cannot eat alot as my nature.

Also if you're like some who can take large breakfast leads to full energy & stay with small meal whole day till the dinner time , then consider the following..

Fried rice with vege, meats, peas , etc as you like with the eggs mix in or eggs fried by self as you like sramble, or sunny side up or etc 2 or 3 eggs. Can do any noodle instead of rice, but rice fill you more . or
Have nan with jam & margerine or just butter & suger or palata with sugar or dip in coffee, milo etc. or just nan or palata with any vege or potato curry or dish . or
Simply... brown bread toasted with cheese, butter or jam or peanut butter [ will fill you for sure], or margerine , with 3 fried eggs as the way you like, with or without potato with
nice milk suger rich milo or coffee.

For snack... yoplait yogurt drink.....straberry taste , etc , is very quick drink & tasty, but have to be in cooler or fridge. Definately refresh mind, brain, boost up energy , good for hungry hypoglycemic tummy & not make you go to wash room. I dranlk alot aday while crazy work with not much time to eat or eat late .
.... yoplait, minigo yogut cup, need spoon to eat.
.... black diamond.. cheese string, instead of peel as string to eat but just bite half each 2 times for quick snack & not hungry or sleepy of eating too much, I still do it on my crazy work day , 2 cheese strings will do refresh you .
.... demonte magic mandarine.. peach & mandarin one , not other unless you've had b4 & like it , ie small can juice with dice fruits , easy to open, drink up even with no spoon as quick snack too, also better if cold.
....rice crispy square, sweet on , can get from chinese store .
..... plain ma ma or maria or etc round easy to eat size cookies, etc cookies , peek frans .
..... candy... Wertches's[? spelling] hard candy has cream in with coco chocalate taste & refresh you, keep in your exm room with yoplait or cheese string if allow, you can request as preg mom , I guess.
.... kitket chocalate, cadbury milk chocalate etc chocalate bar plain one, also better if can keep in exm room .

... oh, small dinner bread roll or any bread, donuts, crossant , small dinner bread square or chinese plain small sweet bun with water is good quick snack too.

Then water, juice [ water melon in fruitopia, paper box one is sweet & fill you, but do not drink too much to avoid the washroom, it is good to drink , sip as snack & keep in the exm room if allow, that really really boost your energy, prevent hungry & hypoglycemia , refresh your brain, mind, give energy & calm self too, frozen drink at night so may be can avoid the cooler or to refrigerate on exm day ,so the friut juice drink is for lunch or keep in exm room, just to sip, not drink much leads to running to wash room.

If possible AVOID COFFEE, so no running to wash room .Drink barley, nestum flakes or quaker instant or instant oatmeal drink..have to make with milk & sugar boild water as making coffee , that fill you without caffine effect of washroom or palpitation.


Waht ever to eat, eat usual one, try not to eat new one , banana, boiled eggs & cheese strings are good though. Luch do as you usually or easy cheese, vege, meat with bread any way as sandwiches.
Ok, you make me hungry, snacking, all the best sss sis, you'll do good, belive in self with the help of your little one in side you & all of us here will pray & support for you.

wow shwe, just wish i didnt go thru ur post now, am feeling hungry too all of a sudden and i just atesticking out tongue, just kiding.grin

thanks a lot shwe, kykie,goodgirl,paheli and praying4a99 for all the good wishes and advice, sure have noted them down and the practical has began(ie trying out the foods) athough i still feel sleepy during the day am sure like goodgirl said when i have my 350 questions infront of me am sure my brain will know better than to feel sleepynod.

p499 , just my 2 cents that , easy to say specific detail, so without thinking much , you can grapsp from the grocery store or convenient store shelf, instead of thinking for which specific food to go for. Glad that make you hungry, it makes me hungry too. i have almost all stock like a mall in my fridge or home .

One more... chips .. really wake you up .. appreciate yourself after few blocks of lunch or breakfast before lunch. It works for me while torture by FT work to study , or study FT with late hour at kap center .
Good chips are.. pringles.. regular, extra cheese or , plainer & really wake you up is..
sour cream & inion .
Also ...baked chips one, no transfat is sunbeam?[ not in stock now so forget the name & flavor] with square like wavy one the cheese one? I think , not red color barbecue or others, should be the yellow , ?green color on bag has plainer taste with less salty , is the best .

Save the thinking process, brain cell for the Qs on the D day .wink

Good, I make you hungry, kiddinggrin.

Eat as would on D day, dress as & do 350 Q for at least once tomorrow or b4 exm , but not too close , so will know how it is & food fit or not.

Lets chat after your D day.

sss sss,bestest of luck,i really dont know what to say with the perfect answer from shwe as well as the massive input from the rest of the good souls here...

just stick to the usual......try popsicles if u usually like them...hey are very refreshing n help a lot.my very pregnant friend went through her surgerys major viva on popsicles , boiled corn and frozen yoghurt.

and yes,do try to avoid coffee n stick to milk...

once again...all the best....the little ones going to pray throughout the duration so u ned not worry at all.

One more... the nestle ... chocalate milk 250 cc are very good to fill & if chill, in fridge is the best to open up your brain if stuffy, & cool & calm you down with happiness .
Easy to carry too, have few boxes, small so hard to find & buy, if not get 500 cc, but do not drink all at once, keep cold home, bring in flask or in 500 ccempty water bottle & keep chill.

It is good & important , hope you read this.

Thanks grin, like your avater, I need to see that mountain & tree with blue sky and white cloud in the high sky, on the top & beyond the mountain that all start with plain grass fields , not so green, some are wild & yellow with some wild flower, but with bright sunny scence at front & calm to the back, like our usmle study journel to exm, residency to the physician in our dream land.

If I sound too dreamy, my bad. But that scence sooth me, sure will do for sss too to calm with confident .
