A 54 yr old female has had increasing abdominal distension for past 2 weeks. Paracentesis yields 1000 ml of slightly cloudy serous fluid. Cytologic examination of the fluid reveals malignant cells consistent with adenocarcinoma. Which of the following primary sites for this neoplasm is LEAST likely to be the source of the metastasis??

stomach
pancreas
ovary
jejunum
colon

easy one....still can confuse many...
yes answer is jejunum...
carcinomas of small intestine very rare...if at all they are usually...intra mural and may cause obstructive symptoms....but never show up with mets in the cavity.
even i went for pancreas for the first time....

I thought the key word here was adenoCA...is this a wrong approach ??

i feel most common malignant lesion in git is adenocarcinoma....followed by lymphomas.
but overall....benign conditions like polyps, hamartomas and carcinoids leave carcinomas far behind.
