A 2 yo boy was just admitted to the hospital because of a convulsion 6 h ago followed by coma. The ER doctor ordered a CT scan with contrst that showed enhancement of the basal cisterns by the contrast material. No other history is available. The most likely diagnosis is: A. Battered child syndrome B. malformation of the vein of Galen C. Meningococcal meningitis D. TB meningitis E. Eastern equine encephalitis

That's what I thought too but apperently the "enhancement of the basal cisterns" is a typical sign of another disease.....

D.. tuberculous meningits.. also called "basal meningitis".. thats what i think..
