Likely chance of chronic active hepatitis is in

a) 3 day old baby with positive HbsAg and HbeAg.
b) 24 yr old with positive IgMHepA
c) 38 yr old with positive IgMHepE
d) 45 yr old with positive AntiHbsAg and Anti HbcAg

A...this qn tests your knowledge of hepatitis antigens and antibodies, it has nothing to do with the age of the patient and I know what you are asking about, it asks who has a greater likely hood of developing a chronic infection and not who has chronic infection.

hepatitis a(option b) and e(option c) ---never chronic state

option d..old infection not active....

option a---mother to a child(90% chances if mother positive HBsAg n HBsAg)

keepgoing, I guess you meant HBsAg and HBeAg (higher likelihood of vertical transmission)...
