every body gave this exam is saying; its the most difficult exam you will set in your life!!!!!! how true is this statment ? I know some body how couldn't set for the board exam becz. of step3. In fact, I applied for this exam but now i'm hisitant to set for it (I didn't start my residency yet). please any advice or reassurance ???

i would say that it is the most challenging of the steps. but it is very doable if you prepare well for it. the advice i got was, even if you dont have visa issues its good to finish it before residency starts (as intern year is taxing you wont be able to get much time for this. after that you will be busy with your rotations, fellowship applications etc). on the plus side, if you have done your ck in the past few months to a year, its an asset. if you have done an internal medicine residency in your home country again it goes in your favor. its possible to get decent scores with 3 weeks prep though i'd say 6 weeks is a comfortable timeline and 8 weeks prep probably the ideal. i suggest going thru the exam experiences and scores thread to get a better idea. all the best.

hi seri.. u said that 3 wks time is a paussible time frame of study.. can u please elaborate on how to go abt it.. as i'm really short of time. thanks a lot.
