IL-8 chemotactically attracts and activates neutrophils and induces their adherence to vascular endothelium. Thus, IL-8 also plays an important role in wound healing. It also promotes their extravasation into tissues. It plays no role in regulation of cytokine production by TH cells— a biologic property ascribed to IL-10 produced by T cf15Hcf12 cells.
